Help with PPI

I did I search for PPI and found nothing so sorry if this has already been discussed.
I am batch processing my files with Photoshop CS before uploading to my SmugMug account. Do I need to change the PPI setting up from 72ppi which is the default, or will EZ Prints in Atlanta do this automatically for me when any photo is ordered...especially the larger ones. I'm shooting with a 20D by the way.
I guess the 2nd is...if I need to increase PPI myself before uploading, what should I do it at. Is there a maximum ppi that EZ Prints uses? And...I take it this will increase my file size!! ???
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here's the info you seek: http://www.smugmug.com/help/print-quality
My approach is to let them upsample but to give them all the original pixels you can.
I see thousands of prints each month and handle every print complaint and I can say with great confidence it's almost never about the pixels or the compression, it's always about the color.
In the last....milliion (?) prints shipped....I don't remember a resolution/pixel problem except when someone fetched a display image off the web and printed an 8x10.
Thanks,
