Originals turned off but still displaying

Can someone tell me if I've done something wrong? I have originals turned off in all of my galleries, yet they are still accessible. It seems that the first time the gallery thumbs load they are all linked to the original image. If you click on the thumb you get the original. If you then navigate forward/back, the option for the original image is no longer there, but all you have to do is click back enough times to get to the thumbs display and you can hit all of the originals again.

(No, I am not signed in and have even tried this on two different computers that have NEVER been signed into my SM account, so this is as pure as can be.)

Notice that if you append /Original to the URL

We'll still show the file, only it'll be the /Large size

The image that is displaying for me is the Large.

It's a little confusing, since what is shown under the photo is
Sizes: S M Large | your preferred size: S M L Original

I believe that the image shown is the large size (as noted on the left).
You're absolutely right that the URL says Original - but I just verified this on one of my galleries, and the photo that is showing is not the Original. The original (in my gallery) doesn't come anywhere close to fitting on the screen.

In any case, even though the URL says "original", when I look at the size below the photo in your gallery, I see this:
original size: 3008px x 2000px | current: 800px x 532px

It's definitely not displaying the original.

Thanks for the quick replies - I was looking at the URL and not the underlying photo data, I guess... should have known SM was smarter than me!
