looking for good inkjet greeting card stock

Has anyone found good inkjet ready stock for printing greeting cards? Preferably that can be printed with photo quality on the outside, and *at least* high quality, if not full out photo quality on the inside. I'll be printing on a Canon Pixma Pro 9000, which so far I'm loving Kodak papers in... but I'm willing to try anything I can get an ICC profile for. :)

My current best theory involves getting 8.5x11 sheets of kodak photo print paper, printing two "outsides" on each sheet, then cutting in half and folding across the opposite "half". The running the inside on high quality non-photo paper, repeating the cutting and folding. Then securing the two together with a bead of rubber cement.

Of course if my favorite image hosting provider had card prints I wouldn't need to go to this hassle. (hint hint... offer it and they will be bought.)

p.s. please don't reply to say that wallmart, target, rite-aid, etc have this option in store. I'm not at all thrilled with the quality or prices at any of the local labs (both mini and full). I'm looking to do this at home for a reason.

Try a Red River sample card pack and see if you like anything. I love the high gloss one, which I did not think I would...

I tried some cards/env packs from Michaels but was extremely disappointed.

Also tried some other brands I found at Frys, to no avail.

    Thanks for the bump David.

Dee, awesome link... I've got a card sampler kit on order now as well as a 13x19 sampler kit. :) I too had tried cards from Michaels (well, I bought them somewhere else, but saw the same brand in Michaels when I went looking there) and a handfull of office places... most of the results were junk.

I'm crossing my fingers here and will let y'all know how these work out.

Wow, I'm liking Red River. The paper is fantastic, and their service, almost as good as smugmug. :D thanks for the pointer Dee, I've already passed it on twice now!
