Cardinals

This is that time of the year when birds go through their molting process, which doesn't make them very photogenic. However here are some cardinal pics where the molting process is barely visible. I used a 30D with a 500mm. f/4 + 1.4 TC with these.

    Had slew of em at my feeder today Adult Mom and Dad and all the kids! :D

    I love cardinals but it seems lately, they have been hard to find around here. Those shots are gorgeous.

    Personally, I think they are more photogenic when they're not in their "field guide " plumage. Makes the shot and the bird more interesting. Great set!

    Hi, Pete. thanks for your comments. I don't know if you have seen a Cardinal replacing their featers, but sometimes they look a bit funny, yet interesting, as you said.
