Nice series! I really like the first kingfisher shot and the last burchell shot! I like warm tone in your pictures! Its something I really enjoy in bird shots

Thanks! You don't realize how lucky I was to get that robin shot. They normally spend their day deep in the bush teasing you with their really beautiful songs.
What a variety. The kingfisher, coucal and the lilac breasted roller are my favorites by far!
Thanks Stephen. It was quite strange on this trip, normally the coucals skulk in the bush and disappear as soon as you stop - this time we must have seen well over a hundred on our travels, all posing to have their pics taken.
...from my recent trip to one of our premier national parks.
Lesser Masked Weaver in non-breeding plumage
Heuglin's Robin
Pied Kingfisher (waited for us every morning when we entered the park)
Pearlspotted Owl
African Jacana
Burchell's Coucal
Beautiful Series BigAl
Love the little Kingfisher.
The Burchell has incredible Red Eyes, wonder why that is ??

I've never been able to get near his cousins here.:cry
Thanks Ric. This one was just friendly enough to want to pose . Normally they sit on the other side of the reeds/tree just to make sure you can't get a clear shot

Thanks Skippy! We have quite a few birds with red eyes, but normally not quite as vivid as the two coucals I've shown here. Could be something to do with spring coming
