Man these things (Japanese Beetles)are a PITA this year!:splat
Gobbling up everything and anything in sight.
It's horrific but they are ALL OVER my Neighbors Rose Of Sharon Bushes.
I sprayed my Hibiscus so far so good.
Two of my 1st shots with my ALMOST NEW 20D (Actuations 491 and 497)
1st one taken with my Sigy 105mm Macro.
2nd with Sigy 24-70mm Macro (50% Crop)

I really hate them, too. They are the main reason I never, never, never plant roses; a.k.a. the favorite food of Japanese Beetles.
Have you all tried milkey spore to control them. Might need a concerted effort with a lot of the neighbors, but it can be effective at reducing their numbers.
