This is a picture I took of my wife a couple of months ago. I was looking for something to post b/c I love getting feedback from all you wonderful dgrinners. This image was taken as a black and white with my Sony H5 but I tweaked the levels a bit and wanted to know what you all think about the semi-conversion, it just doesn't look quite right to me. Thanks!

    I hope this is helpful......

    1. Try to simplify your back grounds..One way is to blur them.

    2. If your model is looking to their right then off set them to their left so they are looking into the picture.

    3. On camera flash usually isn"t flattering.

    4. T shirts sticking above a sweatshirt may be distracting.

    5. The picture seemed a little light to me.

Thanks Azzaro, I actually had a gaussian blur on the background but decided to go without it for the final post. It was hard for me to make a clean mask without blurring the edges of her hair, I'm still working on my selections and I was using a layer mask for the blur. I appreciate the feedback. As far as the on camera flash, I really didn't have much of an option with this shot.....the original image was actually much lighter but it did seem to me like her skin was too light, especially around the forehead area.
