What to say about this place? Those of you from the East may already have heard of this unique, historic building. I know that I have been seeing photos of it that were breathtaking, and I could not believe that so many years had passed with barely anything inside being touched. Now renovations are heavily underway and almost every surface has been stripped. She's kind of ugly right now, but her bones are still good.

One day soon some very lucky urbanites will be able to call this place "home."

I had precisely 1 hour to get in, shoot what I want, and get out. Even though it was a highly stressful situation, I am grateful that the developer took the time to give us this rare opportunity.

Looks like the Divine Lorraine Building was probably quite the place to be in it's day.

Love the curved windows and window box's.
The Auditorium looks good, love the ceiling on that one.

I hope they let you back in once it's all be renovated to do another series.

The Matrix, Awais? I'm curious to know why that is! eek7.gif:D

Thanks gus and Skippy! I always wonder what kind of relics the first people inside were able to find. Much of the furniture is being sold at salvage shops... if I only had a house I was renovating (and a truck)!

Lucky you! I love old buildings and see things as if time stood still within the building. That is awesome and reminds me that I know a few developers I need to talk to about future possibilities of going in and capturing the state of the building before they do anything.

I would love to be able to capture some images that looks as if it were 30 years old, but just well preserved, because of the lack of change in the room for a long period of time.

#2 looks great. I could just roll on the floor for a while, if the floor permits me. :D

Awais I think you could be right! Now that I think back (it's been a while) one of the buildings in the movie did have that old hotel feel.

bham I would take the chance if you can get it! You neve know what you can get until you ask, and IMO I'd rather risk being turned down than completely miss the shot. Preservation... what else is photography for?? mwink.gif

The floor in that room was actually complete! Most of the rooms had the carpet ripped up... which resulted in floorboards being pulled off, and bare nails.
