Disneyland/California Adventure
OK, so it's been done 1,000 times. My wife and I recently snuck away for a two-day trip to Disneyland. Until we got there, we didn't realize that it had been nearly 10 years since our last visit and my first with a digital camera.
This fellow and his daughter seemed to be having the time of their lives.
The Temple of Doom at Indian Jones' Adventure
A perrenial favorite, the Pirates of the Caribbean.
The Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters attraction snaps a photo of you during the ride and allows you to email it as you exit. Gee, I wonder why my wife's score is so much higher than mine?
Toontown Trolley
The fireworks show is as spectacular as ever.
Cinderalla's Castle by night.
A castle of another sort, the lobby of the Grand Californian leads to rooms that start at $350. No, this was not our keep.
We also ventured over to California Adventure, our first trip there.
Hollywood Pictures backlot
You don't often get this nice a photo when you hand your camera over to someone.
Lots of great signs, puns abound.
If you've never ridden the Tower of Terror, you're in for an experience.
Extravegant set detail
California Screamin' at the Paradise Pier
It takes a bit of patience to get a scene like this with almost no people in it.
Making Mickey Mouse tortilla chips
No shortage of opportunities to lighten your wallet. A Disney gift shop is like having a license to print money.
Say what you want, the man had a vision and it has endured. If you're interested in the history of Disneyland, they currently have an exhibit, narrated by Steve Martin, on Main Street called "Disney: The First Fifty Years." It was pretty interesting and about 15 minutes long in a padded seat in an air-conditioned theater. I'm just sayin'.
The rest are here. Thanks for looking. C&C always welcome.

Hi there Tommyboy, I have 4 days down at Disneyland after the Dgrin ShootOut ohhhh I love that place I tell you.
It just brings out the kid in you no matter how old you are
Space Mountain is my favourite ride, followed by Indiana Jones.
Last year the Pirates of The Caribbean was closed,
I think they were still adding Johnny Dep.
I spend the entire day at the park from the time it Opens,
leaving only once for a one hour catnap, then I hit the park till it Closes.
I love the Parades and the whole atmosphere of the Park.
Any time I got to USA, I make sure I do a stop over at Disneyland.
I tell you, it's like stepping back into your childhood
Great Shots, glad you all had a wonderful time.
Noticed you got some pretty wide shots, what was your walk around lens ???
Thanks for sharing ..... Skippy

Hi Skippy,
Isn't Disneyland great? You travel a great distance to get there, wow.
I drug around the following lenses for two days:
10-22
17-85 (28-135 equivalent)
50 1.4
70-300
I used the 17-85 more than 90% of the time. Everything posted above was shot with the 17-85 (on my XTi) except some of the fireworks and the pirates shot with the 1.4. The Toontown Trolley was shot with the 10-22.
Thanks for your nice comments, mate. Good on ya!

You're definitely right about that. I, like you and your wife, have not been to Disneyland for about ten years so thanks for sharing your mini-adventure. Your shots made me feel like I was actually there. Nice compositions!
