    Tx skippy and dbaker1221,this I took just after the rain,was moving with my camera in garden and found this butterfly so clicked it.tx for inputs.I don't know the name of this butterfly but eager if someone tells.iloveyou.gif

    Nice captures. It's a zebra swallowtail, I believe.

    Very nice captures, tpin. thumb.gif Your butterfly is definitely from the swallowtails family. The longer tails, and the and the red median stripe makes me think is a Zebra Swallowtail, but the markins and color are bit different. So it could be a variation. Were was this picture taken? Zebra Swallowtails are absent from the Great Plains westward.

    I agree with Roger --if you are in the states -?? the coloration is not spot on you should have red on the inside with wings open ?? and not brown on the underside ??

    This link shows the same swallowtail in India.
