Here's a portrait of my daughter, her husband, and their baby. CC welcome.

Nice triangle between the 3 faces. I too am distracted by the mom's hand. Even with the hand I would crop out some sky.

This photo could be cropped tight and you could make the hand go away and get rid of all the space at the top. Would work well for an 8x10 crop.

    just my 1.9 cents,

yup, the hand bothered me as well, now I am bothered by a lack of feet. A tighter crom to say.....thigh length on the child might be more pleasing. Excellent exposure though, you even got some detail in the sky. Nice!!

    cropped
Thank you for the comments!! Here a couple of crops.

To get the hands completely out, the crop has to be very tight. What do you think? These are 8x10 crops.

    Thanks for the input!!

I hope you find this constructive... be careful with your focus point. In the tight crop images you can see it more clearly that you have focused on the father which has made the mother and baby a little soft.

However having another look at it I am sure I am correct rolleyes1.gif The mother and baby do look a lot softer than the father to my eyes though?

Thanks Woody. I can see what you are saying. It was very late in the afternoon so the aperature was very wide. I'm sure I thought everyone was close enough together at any focus point on them would be fine.
