    Love the light in that first one. And you are starting the lens off right with two good bifs!

    Liking the Mallard makes sense, since that's the one I was closest to. No substitute for getting close.nod.gif

    These are great Ric! So nice and sharp. I agree about the great light on the first one - nicely composed too.

    Congrats on the new lens! Looks like it wont go to waste.

    Congrats on the new tool Ric :ivar The series came out really well, so you can't complain about the equipment :D

    There is that! :D So what camera did you get to compliment your 400DO?
    The 400DO is an excellent lens for BIFs. I have noticed it focus's much faster than my new 500F4.

    The 400DO is an excellent lens for BIFs. I have noticed it focus's much faster than my new 500F4.

    The camera was my new 1D MKIIn...clap.gif

    The viewfinder size and clearness...along with that huge, accurate, fast center af point make it worth the money. Not to mention it screams at the high frame rate.

    Excellent camera! Once you get used to the annoying interface you'll have a hard time using your 30D!

    Yeah...that release to select is just plain queer! Holding down a button while turning the wheel to review shots is also stupid. :crazy

    But, for the other more important aspects...I can live with it.
