Mud Volleyball
Hometown days in a neighboring town was this last weekend. There was a mud volleyball tournament. It was a good warm up for the upcoming volleyball season. I actually think I'd prefer all the games were played in mud. It's a lot more entertaining.
This one made the front page of the local paper. Not the cleanest image, but it has a lot of appeal for the newspaper.
I just like to look at this one.
A little more action.
After each match there was some dunking of team mates.
There are a few more here if you're interested:http://donek.smugmug.com/gallery/3305364#183722478

We've had a lot more rain than usual in Colorado the last month. I've been shooting my daughter playing in puddles. When I heard about the mixture of the water and volleyball I thought it sounded perfect
Here's a couple of my daughter.
Less light, higher ISO, IQ suffered, but still fun

It was super bright, so I was at ISO 200. I shot in Aperture priority at f3.2. Shutter speed ranged from 1/2500 to 1/4000.

It was kind of a let down. More like a dirty water tournament than mud volleyball. But they had 24 courts going at the same time. I HAD to spend most of my time near the Hooters Girls:D . I didn't stay long. It was :whew :whew . Here are a few photos if you want to look. http://jester.smugmug.com/gallery/3370629#189023437
It doesn't look like your games were quite as competitive as the ones I've shot. There was another town festival last weekend. The games always draw rivalries between the football players and the volleyball teams or neighboring towns. There is usually a team that has no problem with getting really dirty in their attempt to beat their opponent. I shot the tournament last weekend for about 45 minutes. The same team kept winning and between games swam in the mud. I think they had an advantage in that they always played the first match with their opponent looking into the sum. In a best out of three situation, they consistently won when playing with their backs to the sun. Here are a couple from last weekend.
