I rode the mountain loop on the way to Idaho last weekend. Hard to believe this is in the Oregon desert.

From the 9500 foot ridge, the view east over the Alvord desert rivals dantes view in death valley.

Very nice! Spectacular views! I went to Steens Mountain Running camp in high school...we hiked and ran down into one of those canyons (and out of one!). Seeing pics of the area make me want to visit that corner again. Thanks for sharing!

That's an amazing perspective. It left me wanting to see an image of the foot bridge you describe.

OK, obviously I am staying up way too late at night. Now that I look at it with clear eyes, I see you wrote "... 9500 foot ridge." I must have been sleepy and cross-eyed, because I could have sworn I read "foot bridge."

Aside from all that confusion, the images are awesome!!!
