The duel has great depth...a very appealing shot.

    The hunter is amazing! thumb.gif

Sneaky way of bring birds into a mammal thread.:D

Wow, really great series, Al. thumb.gif

Are these animals all out your backdoor? That don't look like no zoo.

    Cheers,

Cool series Big Al! clap.gif Makes me homesick though. The giraffe full of birds is my favorite!

Thanks Dave. I was quite lucky to get the Steenbok this close - they are normally quite shy.

I love the giraffe with the birds as head attire. And the steenbok is beautiful.
    Fabulous!

Thanks Joel. They certainly were not taken in a zoo mwink.gif. These were taken in a game reserve (Kruger Park) about 500km from where I live. I do have a small reserve less than 10km from me where most of these pics were taken (almost out my backdoor :D).

Great shots. I envy you. I was in Kenya and Tanzania for two weeks and loved it. I got a few shots that I am happy with. Love the giraffe. It's amazing how the animals ignore the vehicles that are around them. Keep the shots coming.

Thanks Glenn! I have more of the giraffe and the oxpeckers, but with the low shutter speed I had to use the birds are a bit blurry.

You should try doing a trip out here - very favourable $ exchange rate at the mo.

Thanks Denise. The steenbok is a pretty little beast - little as it's only about half a metre tall at the shoulder!

Thanks Harry - I'm sooo looking forward to joining you as a retiree. I just *want* to spend more time out there while the animals are still there.
