Hey y'all,

I'm shooting my first event requiring same day purchases in September. I read several of the postings on the different approaches that photographers have taken. The event is not excessive in size so here is what I plan to do:

1. Have one assistant to handle sales
2. Set up a workstation, monitor, and printer on site
3. Each hour, upload the photos and print contact sheets for viewing
4. Take orders
5. Process the the photos (orders only) post event
6. Upload the photos to Smugmug
7. Place the orders per individual to be fulfilled through Smugmug.

Obviously, there are more efficient ways to handle the order processing and fulfillment; however, I am not set up to except credit card transactions nor due I have a lab close by that I reasonably trust to due the printwork. Using Smugmug will allow me to take credit card sales onsite.

So the big issue that I am wrestling with is shipping and handling. S&H is calculated when the order is submitted to Smugmug which will be after the fact at the event. How do you approach charging and collection of S&H fees?
