Osprey chicks are off the nest

These are a few shots of the last remaining fledgling left at the nest. The dad is missing in action and the mom stays away for long periods of time, so the chick I'm sure won't be there much longer. Last Saturday morning, the chick did some fly around between the nest and an old snag nearby.

I'm not really a "birder" although I enjoy photographing them ala snapshot style, but this series is a fascinating study of flight.

Fantastic captures. I just recently photographed a nest of Osprey on a cell tower for a local newspaper. They were over 100 ft away and almost that far up. It was a challenge. Your photos are just spectacular. They are magnificent birds

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
