Is there something wrong w/ the uploader today?

For the life of me I can't upload any galleries on smugmug today (8/16/07). I've been trying all morning and all day to no avail. When I get to the upload pictures page, instead of the Java upload to the green "smuggy", I get a blank page. I had to use a third party stand-alone uploader to upload today. Also, watermarking is REALLY slow today. Is smugmug undergoing some sort of maintennance today?

Hi, no - no maintenance going on today. Please write our help desk and let us guide you through some troubleshooting steps, okay? http://www.smugmug.com/help/emailreal

Andy, I have been having some problems while using my custom url. Here is a copy of the e-mail I fired off to your help desk. Maybe you have some ideas.

    e-mail:

"I posted a question in the DGrin Smugmug support forum today and Andy told me to e-mail you. The problem today was I was unable to upload any photos/galleries using the Java uploader. I got no options to use another uploader, just a blank smugmug page. Andy said there was no maint. going on today at SmugMug.

I found what the problem is. I have a custom URL (cyclingcaptured.com) and was logged in to that and trying to use the uploader. The problem was, I was LOGGED OUT of my main smugmug URL (velocycle.smugmug.com). Once I opened up another tab in my browser and pointed it velocycle.smugmug.com and logged in, I was able to upload pictures in the other tab which had cyclingcaptured.com opened. Is this behavior normal? There are a couple of other anomolies with using my custom domain name. A couple of the things I noticed is that while viewing my galleries the pictures load slower using my custom URL as opposed to using the smugmug domain. Also, while using my custom domain, it is impossible to remove some of the smugmug-related stuff (such as photo time line). When I try to move it to my control panel, nothing happens. When hovering over the move to control panel link, I notice the url is referring to my smugmug domain instead of my custom domain. If I copy the url and paste it into my browser and change the smugmug domain to my custom domain, the change (moving the item to control panel) works as it should. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Also, When I am logged in to my custom domain (http://www.cyclingcaptured.com) I can not log out. When I hit the log out link, my browser refreshes and I am not logged out. When I am viewing my site and am logged in using the smugmug domain (http://velocycle.smugmug.com) I am able to log out and everything works as it should.

How come I am having so many problems using a custom url?

    Thanks,

Hi, log in and out from www.smugmug.com - then you should always be fine.

FWIW, you have an error in your navbar or other html, that's causing stuff to be underlined when it shouldn't be:

I think this may be the cause of some of your problems, with moving things, and links not doing what they are supposed to be doing.

Your timeline appears to be hidden in your control panel.

Allen can sort you I'm sure, in the Navbar Help Thread over in the customizing forum.

Andy, I don't see those lines on any of my pages using FF or IE. However, I did notice the nav bar was not properly formatted using IE. I got rid of the bar, looks like the code was messed up.
