Can anyone tell me what the crterion is for showing up in a google image search?

    I'm not sure this information is being spread by Google in the public.

    What never hurts is to add keywords and captions to your photos and keyword galleries as well. This will help Google in ranking your site better. See this page for additional details: http://smugmug.jot.com/WikiHome/MaximizeYourFindability

    Also you could try signing up with Google webmaster tools (www.google.com/webmasters). This gives you the option to opt your site in for additional use in google images.
