Best Lighting for Indoor Studio?

I take mostly outdoor shots and I will be the first to tell you I am stupid with the technical things that come with photography. My outdoor shots always come out clean and bright and they always have the best lighting.

I would love to start shooting indoors though. I have been researching some lighting, but would love to hear others input on what I should use? Pros? Cons? Anything would help!

Also, is a reflector disc really worth it for outdoor shots?

Lighting is my ultimate enemy and I'm not letting it be my demise!

Lighting is the nemesis of many of us.

I'm currently using a borrowed Calumet Travelite 1500 set (a pair of Travlite 750's and umbrellas) that works pretty well. The most popular setup is AlienBees, usually the 800. I'm looking at getting the Paterson Interfit Stellar 300 kit which is basically the direct competitor.
