A better lens

Is there a lens that is better for bringing up far away shores? I have the Sigma 70-300 and I am waiting for my 50-500mm Bigma, However, please tell me is there a lense that you would recommend. I want to use on a regular basis a lense that is similar to the 70-300 but a wee bit better if you know what I mean.
