Hi Everyone,

Every so often a flock of Ibis pass through and spend a day or so. I am always amazed at the iridescent colors of these birds and this day the late afternoon sun enhanced them even more. Hope you enjoy.

Number 2 and the last three are very nice. I have only seen two ibises and they were the white faced variety. I couldn't get a shot of them either. Nice job.

    Hi Stephen, Thanks for viewing.

I'm not sure either. Earlier this year I got the two shots below, these definitely had the white faces. My book only shows the White Faced Ibis and says that during mating plummage both sexes get the white markings. It says that the White Faced can be confused with the Glossy but doesn't show a picture of the Glossy. Here are the two I took early this spring..

Great BIF! You definitely have white-faced ibises. The Glossy is not located in Arizona where you are. I looked the birds up in my Sibley's Birding book. They are beautiful birds.
