I wasn't thinking about the challenge until I got home (sloshing in the snow dims the mind) and looked at this shot.

This photo would have been a good one for challenge 32.
Challenge 33 topic is Emotion and does not fit very well.

Calm is an emotion, although some may think of it as a lack of emotion. Hence the titile Calm Winter Scene. :):At least that is what I was thinking. Others may disagree.

At least that was my thought on the matter.

If you feel it doesn't belong, that's OK. I still like it. iloveyou.gif

I include "calm" in the emotion range I carry in my mind. Hence the title "Calm Winter Scene"

If our arbitratior doesn't agree, that is how the cookie crumbles. ne_nau.gif

it's not what we feel belongs or doesn't. i've always said, going back to the very first challenge i ever participated in (ch 40somthing on stf, mel), that the photo has to please me the photographer first - and so therefore, you've satisified that goal mel clap.gif

keep shooting - nice to see you here btw!

I'm a bit confused. Are our photo submissions supposed to be captures of emotional displays or attempt to evoke emotion?

I found this interesting list of emotions that may help inspire some folks.
"Consulting the rules of composition before taking a photograph, is like consulting the laws of gravity before going for a walk." - Edward Weston
"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."-Hunter S.Thompson

    The words were "convey emotion"

I think that could be a display of emotion in the shot or something that makes you feel emotion I think.

    rolleyes1.gif I'm gonna start a fish fanclub

I was going to do a shoot this weekend on "fear" but thanks to your handy dandy list, I'd describe my idea more along the lines of "abject terror" muhahaha
