When your trying to be more creative or more abstract (which is what it looks like your trying here) look for form/shapes/structures. It looks like that blue water would look very nice if there was a nice shape to it. As it is the water just cuts across the shot creating a barrier and then the top right hand looks like it could be interesting if you just concentrated on it. I forgot one thing try upping the contrast.
