Ok maybe I'm stupid but.......
Just bought my Boy a brand new A630 and I noticed the first folder # was 100.
Why is this? :scratch
Why not start at folder #1?
Just got my used 20D with 480 clicks and it was on folder #104 or 105 IIRC.

Just found this kinda odd and I'm sure there is a logical explanation. :rolleyes

The numbering systems of many digicams and dSLRs are seemingly arbitrary and without much user customization. I suspect that will change over the years, but for now it's just too wierd to try to understand, so I don't try.

Got this from Jon over at POTN.....

" It's to comply with the official DCIM specification, which applies to all digital cameras.

The 20D starts a new folder every 100 frames; so 104CANON sounds about right for 480 frames."

    Interesting! eek7.gif
