yeah - soccer season has started again. :clap Still in preseason tournaments, but at least there's something to shoot. Hubbie was w/ younger son at his tournament in So Cal and I was w/ my older, a bit more north in Santa Barbara (where it was, thankfully, quite a bit cooler than the 100+ F / 37+ C at home).

My older son just joined this team as their keeper (big transition for him, but that's another story); three other new players (including the one below) also joined after a big roster shuffle. This was the 1st time they played together as a team. Not a bad showing - semi-finalists in this tournament but they still have a ways to go to get back to form after most of the summer off.

But, enough rambling, here is the pic that caught my attention. Just love the expression on his face.

Hiya George - thanks for dropping by. Yeah, we'll be busy for a while, but we've made this a family gig (kids play, mom shoots and dad refs) and all enjoy it - makes it easier that way.

Haven't been on Dgrin in awhile but stopped by today and saw these. Had to comment! Yes, you gotta love that expression. Great pics. Opted to take a rest from soccer this season but will miss being on the field and photographing the kids.

thanks for commenting. That 1st player is very expressive and I anticipate getting lots of good, expressive shots of him over the season.

if you're kids aren't doing soccer this season, what are they up to now and will we being seeing pix of it?

Hunter is taking karate but I will probably hang out at a soccer game or two to keep in practice. Here is a collage I put together from baseball. I loved the last shot of him running with his shoe untied. Check out the expression on his face as well and also on the one where he is batting. He gives me lots of determined faces.
