IE Problems

My mom is having a hard time viewing photos on my smugmug site (http://zoch.smugmug.com). Here is what she sent me:

I'm able to open pictures but when I go to look at individual ones it (IE) send error report (code is 0xc0000005) I think those are zeros not O's. I haven't installed IE 7 as I've been told by SBC that it works funky with Yahoo.

She was wanting to checkout smugmug and see if it was something she would want to use for her photos.

Does anybody know what this may be. I was unable to recreate the problem using Firefox and IE7.

Thanks,
Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer,

I'm sorry your mom is having trouble! We fully support IE7, and I haven't heard of that error before.

I am curious what she means by "when I go to look at individual ones" . I wonder if she's referring to lightbox? Like this:

If you could get any more details on what she's clicking on when she gets that error, that would help. thumb.gif

    Anne,

I believe that is what she is trying to do. She can view the thumbnails just fine but when she clicks on the larger photo to open it full size IE closes with error listed above. She is using IE6 because she is nervous about installing IE7. Just seems odd that this is happening. There isn't anything special about my setup, just what is built in to SmugMug. ne_nau.gif

I found this tidbit of info regarding the error code: http://www.updatexp.com/0xC0000005.html. Now how do I figure out if this is something in the SmugMug coding or on her side? Because I can hear her now, "it works on all the other sites I go to so how can it be me."

Hmm... none of us are seeing that error with IE6. headscratch.gif

That site you sent me to suggested it could be caused by an html issue. Have you put html in any of your gallery descriptions or photo captions?

And can you have your mom click on the main image here: http://www.smugmug.com/popular/today/ ? That'll give us a better idea if she's having trouble with something just on your SmugMug site/gallery/photo or trouble with SmugMug in general.

If anyone else has ever seen this error or has any insight, please feel free to jump in here. :D

Ok, I've sent her an email so it may be tomorrow before I hear anything, she and my dad are travelling the country in a motorhome. :D

I have added some captions but not any html code. The photos that she is trying look at in particular are: http://zoch.smugmug.com/gallery/2895733#155735368-L-LB

I heard from mom this morning. Here is what she said:

I was able to open all their pictures and no problem with IE so I don't know why it closes when I try and look at your pictures?

    Any ideas?
