I'm not experienced with professional photo albums. :scratch

I'd like feedback from folks who have used various albums/photo books services... specifically, price, quality, ease of use, flexibility, limitations.

Who do you use, and why?

Does anyone do their own printing, or have prints done elsewhere, and send the prints to be assembled into a book?

If this has been covered elsewhere, feel free to point me in that direction.

thanks,
teresa

Thanks. I read through that entire thread. Lots of info there.
A couple of questions that come up for me after reading that. There was mention of SmugMug offering book printing. Are they now?

Also, does anyone know which publishers require you to use their software, and which ones allow you to upload designs built in Photoshop or InDesign?

SM doesn't yet. Andy keeps hinting around, but no announcement so far.

I think most use their owrn sofware--at least the consumer-oriented ones like Blurb. Just check with their sites, it should be easy to find out. Even if they require use of their own software, there is typically a full-page full-bleed single image layout--just generate your layouts in PS and use them in that setup.
