Couple from the other night.

20d tripod mounted manual mode
Shot in raw

Billboard can be seen all over the riverfront at night

Tried to do some blending on this photo

Not sure if this good cadent for this but it seem to bring out some of the shadows.

Paddle wheel from a riverboat
Under this wheel it has steam pipes and a calliope but they were turned off for some reason.

Nice shot on the second. The lack of light at the top of the first one makes me think that cropping the tops out may help.

    Fred,
Nice shots. I really like the first one. I am planning on visiting alot of ballparks over the summer so its nice to see how you shoot them. I played with the first a bit. Not sure if I accomplished anything. I thought the coloring was cool and tried to make it stand out more..

    Thanks everyone
Having a ball with the new toy drums.gif

Still learning it but it really takes nice pictures

Glad I jumped into the dslr

There are some disadvantages more time prossing, swiching lens, heavy after a long day I can feel it (as apposed to carrying a 717 or 828 and even the old pentax), need a new bag and I need more money mwink.gif

I love how dramatic the composure is on the second shot, so industrial and well colored. Awesome! thumb.gif

you're well on your way, :dood

The only thing that bothers me with the first shot is the noise in the sky.

Yes me too not sure exactly what I am doing wrongheadscratch.gif
Seems to come from something I am doing in post

The places I take my nightshots have lots of HID lamps, high pressure sodium, metal halide and mercury vapor lamps
And they give the photos an orange(redish) cast
When I try to correct the color sometimes it introduces noise...maybe I am just not doing it right?eek7.gif

    Thanks
