Hungry Woodpecker

This is from my in laws backyard. The holes in the tree are from a woodpecker, must have been a hungry fella. I only hear from family and friends about my pictures so any cc would be wonderful!

    I like the first shot best thumb.gif ..but maybe a little more of a straight on shot of the holes. or perhaps a tighter crop of them?

    Thanks for the input. I have straight on pictures as well, I really liked the tree. I will post those ones in the am fi you are interested.:D

    The first one is the best to me. I like the shallow DOF. It focuses you on the debarked areas. The second one, while technically good, is flat to me artistically (subjective I know :D) The tree branches are nice spreading out above but the bark is really the unique part. The last is much better showcasing the bark, but it has a window in the background which sort of kills it. I can't tell you how many backgrounds have killed my shots.
