Located in Gainsville, at the Florida Museum of Natural History, is one of my favorite places to shoot butterflies. With these I used a 20D with a 200mm, and a 30D with the 300mm f/4.

Good eye, Ric. thumb.gif That was one of the few pics I was able to take using the natural light, but I had to use 1000 ISO for that picture.

Hi, BigAl. Thanks for your comments. They are all taken with the flash except the second and last. I had the flash set at -1EV, and I used an ISO of 800 to 1000 ISO. I'm not a fan of flash photos, but the lighting conditions were very poor (as in any rainforest :D) and I didn't have any other choise, except for a few shots in sunny spots.

I have to say all of these photos are great! Each one is deifferent from the next. I really like the composition in the second shot! I like the long stem and how it leads up to the butterfly :D The greens are very nice in the last shot, nice mix of colors! thumb.gifclap.gif

These are all really nice! Butterflies aren't always that easy to get in focus and in a good composition.
