Whitewater kayaking in Norway!
Hi everyone,
First post here. Just a few shots from a recent kayaking trip to Norway. The first selection of photos are of kayaking. After this there are some non-sporty ones! Hope you'll excuse this... Any constructive criticism appreciated!
The Sjoa Playrun at high water
Reaching over the hole on the Sjoa Playrun.
Adam has some great facial expressions when paddling! This ones from the river Ulvaa, a tributary of the Rauma.
This is Eddie. The look of fear is great! Not sure why because there really wasn't that much downstream... River Ulvaa.
Sometimes a capsize can be quite refreshing... Other times it's not so cool.
The Ulvaa has a great slide on it. This is Rich just about to drop over the last bit into the pool below!
This is Guy on another slide. This time on a river called the Rjuande, a tributary of the Raundalselvi, near Voss.
When not boating we, well, we travelled to the next river. But Norway is stunning! Here are a few additional shots...
The weather was often pretty mixed and very changeable!
After much camping, a night back in civilization was needed and a 21st birthday celebration required! We chose Trondheim and a fine choice too!
Trondheim fort.
In between boating some evening skate sessions took place...
This is a scene we stumbled upon having driven up the valley to check a river out. You can just make out the glacier in the centre of the picture.
Finally if you are lucky enough to have the sun shine on you and are driving along a fjord you might be treated to this.
Cheers,
Matt
