here are a few shots from a trip me and my girlfriend took to the heithplains and forests around amersfoort, in the middle of the netherlands. the sanddunes there are one of only a few 'active' ones, meaning they 'migrate' to different locations by wind..
hope you like them, C&C always apreciated.

Heithplains and sanddunes of Holland:
a walk around the park
a walk around the park
Our trail through the heith
Lots of different small animals live in these colourfull plants
Luckily we didnt have to rely on my navigational skills but could rely on marked signs (and my girlfriend happened to be an exceptional navigator :bow)
The forrest was beautifull with the most amazing green mosses.
you can almost feel how soft this is.. :barb
The sanddunes were an amazing sight
we ended with some big 'ol icecreams! :thumb

So, these sand dunes are in the middle of a forest in the Netherlands; not near the sea? Weird. I like the moss shot.
Yes, these sanddunes/sandplains are in the middle of holland (more inland as well) and are the result of stripping the heith for building houses/huts and feeding animals in ancient times. People lived in these huts into the 20th century.

they were inhabited by the poorest of the poor and were alowed to stand when they were build between dusk and dawn and smoke came out of the chimney at dusk the next day .
oh and I did take another shot of the imprint
i dont know if that was what you had in mind as an interesting shot
thanks for watching
