I promised that if the rumor about the new Nikon D3 and ISO 25,600 were true that I would not only eat broccoli, I would photograph myself doing the deed.
Here are the nasty little tree vegetables:
Building up to the moment:
First nibble:
"See-food" diet:
The color I turn eating broccoli:
Broccoli stuck in my teeth gag:
Anyway, congratulations to Nikon for being the first dSLR to go "Ultra" ISO 25,600. Now we just have to see what that means.

Broccoli is jam packed with vitamin C, if that helps any.
Ziggy, do you eat cauliflower? Very similar if you don't like the green color of broccoli.

ultra iso 25,600000 means yes the camera will take an iso 25600 photo but its only going to be usable to newspapers printing BW at 85 dpi.
As a kid, I was forced to eat lots of broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus. My grandparents and many relatives grew the stuff in tremendous quantities, and when it was ready my brother, sister and I would have to help harvest and then be asked ("asked" yeah right) to eat large quantities.
In quantity, it gives me gas and more.
I swore that when I was old enough, I would never eat the stuff again.

So ISO 25,600 is two full stops faster than ISO 6400.
The sports shooters going to be able to use this for high shutter speeds in nightime fporting events?

put it into a roasting pan, sprinkle with a little olive oil, add a little salt, maybe some pepper.
Roast at around 400 degrees until it starts to brown, mix it up let it brown some more.
Eat.
Whole different broccoli experience. Makes it taste good for broccoli haters.

ISO 25,600? Over the top? Wonder if I can count on one hand how many f / stops that is over ISO 1600
You can. And have one finger left over for ISO 51,200. If you use all fingers on both hands (above 1600) the highest ISO would be 1,638,400. That should be enough for motorsports in front of candle light.

ISO 1,638,400, now you're talking! Who will do it first? How many billion megapixels by then?

What will you eat if they make a cam with that setting?

As for the iso 1,638,400, NASA probably already has something like that in the hubble... and it is probably liquid helium cooled.

PS can't wait for the 300d to hit the stores...make my D70s a spare body???
I would modify this procedure slightly to make the whole experience
even better. I'm sure even ziggy would love it after the following
very slight changes to your steps.
* Put it into a roasting pan, sprinkle with a little olive oil, add a little salt, maybe some pepper.
* Roast at around 400 degrees until it starts to brown, mix it up let it brown some more.
[here are my proposed additional steps]
* Throw it all out.
* Get a burger.
[and now back to your great process]
* Eat.

However cover any such vegetable in cheese sauce and it becomes edible.

Anything else robs the flavour/goodness & you probably should be eating at Mcdonalds anyway if you dont eat these for the taste.
You guys that dont like them...ever eaten these foods straight off the plant ? Im sure you would change your mind.
Mmm, that was a tad patronising but never mind, I eat very healthily thank you and don't frequent any of the American and other fast food establishments that now litter our country.
However I'm not going to pretend I like the flavour of any of the above, even though I grow my own and cook them in a variety of ways as well as eating raw in salads.
