This isn't exactly the best tree for climbing :) It's a honeylocust tree in our field. The thorns are huge!

    Why does this tree have such large thorns?
    Does it yield some kind of fruit at all ?

    No fruit that I know of. Just small flowers that make seeds. I'm not sure why this particular tree feels the need to grow such large thorns. Definitely keeps the kids out of it though....lol
