An Alaskan Wedding

Whew, what a busy month August has been. I am finally going to share some pictures from my last wedding on August 11. I was very pleased with how these turned out- and I feel that mostly it is because the bride and groom were willing to invest precious time during their wedding day in getting great pictures. That and they were so sweet and willing to do things like wear their wedding clothes in unconventional places. Their cerimony was precious, and I found myself tearing up during their vows.

1. Groom prep shot:

2. The cutest ring bearer: (I know about the little bruise on his cheek : )

3. playing outside before the wedding:

4. They played golf before the wedding at the church

5. The hair detail:

6. The bride:

7. Another bride shot. (the groom loves this one... heh, heh)

8. Bride and Bridesmaid shot. (we had a lot of fun!)

9. Whew this is getting long: Bride and father of Bride (one of my favs- shoot they are all my favs)

10. Flower girl:

11. Little girl- big eyes:

12. The kiss:

13: After the wedding they played croquet

14. The best man getting ready for the big shot:

15. This is the cover of their disk

16. on the dock:

17. On the dock some more: it was so beautiful right at sunset.

And that is all I am going to bore you with. Thanks for looking! It was a fun one, and I would totally appreciate any feedback on how I did. The bride and groom were very happy, but then again, they don't know alot about photography.

Wow, these are exceptional. The only nit I'd pick is the cut head in #11.
But that is very minor. 1, 9, 12 and 14 more than make up
    for it. Wonderful stuff.

Gorgeous job, Heather! clap.gif A beautiful setting and a beautiful couple, and this sampling of shots shows off their wonderful and unique day very well. My faves of the group are 1, 6, 9, 12, 14, 15, 17. I wonder what #6 would look like with just a touch of sepia added, to warm it up a bit? The expression from dad is just priceless! Congrats!

    Beautiful work!

I would say 7, 10, 15, 16, 17 really caught my eye but they are all great photos!

The last one, with the leaves in the foreground, they look like curtains at the end of a play. Looks like it would be a great album closer for that idea alone. :D

Thanks so much for sharing this great work with us!
    Take care!

Wow Heather these are just gorgeous. Even more than that, they come together to tell a really fun story! #3 is a wonderful use of negative space, I really like that! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the #9 shot of the bride and dad...wow, this is the best one I've ever seen. Looks like a commercial shot. clap.gif #10 of the flower girl is very dreamy, with her hair blowing and the creative composition. Really like that one! #13 is wonderful, I like the action, the colors, as well as your creative framing to only include the bride from the waist down. And #14 of the best man is HILARIOUS! nice snag! and the background is perfect! love that. I like all the shots of the couple together, you did a FINE job of getting unique romantic portraits of them.

and major kudos for all the varied approaches and locations (golf, croquet, the water). This wedding looks like it was a photojournalists dream!!! Fun people with fun activities going on! Thanks for sharing!

Wow! Thanks everyone for all your nice comments. I just haven't had a second in the last few days to post my deep thanks. I always wonder if I am the only one to like "what I like" so it helps me when the rest of you chime it. I am thinking of advertizing in the "Alaska Bride and Groom" magazine and just haven't gotten up the nerve because I didn't know if I was "good enough" to do that, but after all of your nice compliments on this wedding, I might muster enough courage yet! Thanks again!

    (I hate it when I thought I responded and I didn't!)

Gorgeous, gorgeous set!! Just wonderful! And you'd better submit to the magazine - definitely good enough!

hmmm that is strange... I don't know why, since the sharing says ok and everyone else seems to be able to see it.ne_nau.gif

    Can anyone see it now?

Not to worry...it was on my end. I had Powerpoint, Excel, Microsoft Picture IT, and CS3 opened all at once. Guess it was slow because of all my programs. I left it opened and went to walk the dogs, when I came back all the pictures were up.

    I must say...you did a wonderful job! thumb.gif

These are all fantastic! clap.gif That shot of the best man, though, is my absolute fave. His expression and pose are just priceless; your capture of them just perfect.

These are absolutely wonderful shots! You did a fantastic job of capturing their story. I love all the shots but the two that stand out for me are the shot of Dad and Bride as well as the one of the Best Man.

    Superb work! thumb.gif
