Hit the International Crane Foundation last weekend by the Wisconsin Dells. I had a very limited time frame:cry & the morning started out rainy. Mostly what I shot were head shots because most of the cranes would walk up to the fence when they saw me. I think maybe visitors are feeding them on the sneak. I didn't have time to explore the whole place & a few of the cranes were not out:dunno it was nice to see cranes that I normally would not.
Black Crowned Crane
Black-necked Cranes
Sarus cranes
Siberian Cranes
Brolga
Fun Fact
A salt gland located near the eye allows the Brolga to excrete a concentrated salt solution from the saltwater they drink.
This one ran to the fence before I could shoot
Demoiselle Cranes
Eurasian Crane
Hooded crane...........I believe.
& the star of the show...THE WHOOPING CRANE
I know.. it was long:dunno but I hope you enjoyed it. I didn't shoot the Sandhills because I get to see them in the wild here.

Interesting that you have the first one as a Blackcrowned Crane. Here it's just Crowned Crane. To add to your set, here's the Blue Crane
Bugs
Spiders
Flowers
Thanks Al. I think there is a gray crowned crane too. the blue cranes were not out when I was there.

thanks for sharing, Dave
I didn't know that there were that many different kinds of cranes.
I like the black-necked shot...very well done.

Hi Dave.. Superb shots, beautiful color. What lens did you use to shoot them?
In the close up of the eye you can see your reflection and the fence as well, that is a SHARP lens !!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
thanks
Dave
thank you
Dave
thanks....I used my 50-500 bigma..it was kinda dark for it when I first got there (rain) but I was too lazy to switch lens. plus ..I use it so much that I'm pretty used to how it shoots.
