It was over 90 in town and up on MT Evans it was 45 at noon. I had on a coat, hat, gloves, thick socks and boots. The wind was mild but with rain and hail off and on. What you would call nice weather at 14,000 feet.

The cloud play was awesome, you only had to watch for a little while for the sun to hit the right spot of your composed photo. Within minutes it was gone. The hard part was trying not to set up the other photos all around you.

This photo brings me right back. I can almost feel the clean crisp air and see my breath. In the distance you could hear the thunder rumble and see the faint yellow glow of lightening throughout the clouds.

I went to see the MT Goats. I arrived at the top at 12:30 PM (09.02.2007) and worked my way down to 3 different locations.

I drove down after sunset at 8:45 PM. In all that time I was not bored, the weather and light kept me entertained.

I ran out of time and light to explore all my locations on the MT..

I will just have to spend more time at 14,000' in the cold air with the clouds touching me.
