ProMaster Lenses

Can anyone give me information on the overall quailty of ProMaster lenses? I am looking at a 70-300mm zoom and would like to hear the opinions of some of the folks on this discussion forum as to ProMaster's overall quality.

I believe that Promaster products are simply re-branded from other manufactuers. In the case of lenses this usually means Sigma, Tamron and Cosina. (Quantaray lenses are similarly sourced.)

The ProMaster 70-300 EDO F/4- 5.6 LD Macro is remarkably similar in specifications to the Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro, so I'm thinking it's a match.
