Nice capture! I would crop a little off the back so the egret is not so centered!

Nice capture of the snowy taking off. I agree with Glenn on the crop.

    Thanks all for the comments.

I've got to say that I'm happy with the focus and with the noise levels--for
grins, I shot this at ISO 2500 :yikes!

I would have preferred to have something other than a bright background
with this bird but hey...what can I say?

    Another from the series.

The comp is much better in this one and you did a nice job exposing for all those white feathers against the clear, almost transparent background of the water. thumb.gif

Just means you need to go out and shoot more, spend more time in the field. Oh noes!!! :D

I know next to nothing about wildlife photography except that white birds during the day are tough. I love the details in the feathers though. You were at 500mm for these shots? I can't imagine how heavy that setup must have been. eek7.gif

Yes. I need to get out more for sure. I think the ticket for this place is a bike
and backpack for the 500--I use the soft case for this most of the time and
    it's a backpack.

The 5 can be a struggle to drag around. I know Waxy will disagree but I just
toss it over my shoulder (on the monopod). He's always freaked that it will
break the mounting screw--which does happen.
