profile picture not showing on threads

I have tried to add a picture to my profile and it doesn't seem to be working. It is in my profile but when I post a new thread it doesn't show up. Do I need to do something else that I'm overlooking?

    This crazy forum software actually has a place for two photos. The profile photo shows when people view your profile (and yours does show if I click your name and "view public profile"). It's the avatar that shows on your posts - so you'll need to add a second photo...
