Don't know what kind of bird it is.

That would be an adult green heron. Beautiful capture of the heron doing what it does best; staying still waiting to strike.

Thanks guys! I always thought of herons as being larger birds. No wonder I couldn't find it, I was looking in the wrong spot.

Fine catch, Greens don't come easy, they are shy to the point of paranoid.
