I took a few minutes this weekend and redid my site - its a work in progress. I'm a poor college student and don't have much time to devote to it. Let me know what you think.

there isn't a link to go back, you have to click the back button on the browser. It's a flaw in the software that creates the galleries. It's seperate from the progam i use to make the site. I just don't have the time to imbed the script in the program.

the going back to the home page is definitely something I would look into...personally. If customers are turned off by your site, what are the chances they will be into hiring you?

nice images though - you're very talented! are you planning on going into the people photography - because I noticed that the tab for people photography and everything to the left is inactive - eventually going to fill it up? I'd love to see more.

    well done!

Thanks Ross, I checked out your site and loved it. It's actually what made me decide to post mine (though it's in no way on the same level as yours). I'm just starting off in photography - I bought my first camera ever about 9 months ago. Since then, I have been consumed with photography. I'm a poor college sophmore and don't have a lot of time to devote to my site, so It gets worked on on the weekends and when I have time at night. I'll make some revisions to it this weekend, so check back.

As far as portraits go, I've taken a few senior portraits, and have a few engagement picutres for friends planned. I love people and have been looking through fashion magazines (I know, I know) to study the poses and facial expressions.

I really like your style of portraits. I'm currently trying to obtain a nice prime or two and some flashes. What is your setup? I can't decide if i want to get strobes or go for two flashes. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

Ross- I really like the basic layout on your site. I am interested in upgrading my site to something along those lines. Did you write the code? I would be interesteds in seeing to put that together.

Rusting in Peace, I sent you a PM.

austin, my set up is exactly what you see in my signature. I plan to upgrade to the 5D soon, though, as soon as they release the rebates : ) CROSS YOUR FINGERS! because for some reason I'll spend $800 on a new site, but not $2500 on a new camera...huh?! haha! but $2000-$2100 sounds reasonable for the 5D, so as soon as those rebates come out, I'll be first in line, I can tell you that!
I do use my 580 EX II a lot, especially at events (though I'm mostly a portrait photographer, I do do weddings and anniversary parties, birthday parties, stuff like that) but I recently added a modeling light to my collection, and I tell you - it's amazing. I'll go look up a link to send it to you, and I'm about to post some pictures of what using a modeling light can look like. I'll post it in the portraits section I guess? haha. I'll do that.

THIS is what I brought to the club to take those pictures, it's incredibly bright, but it only lasts 17 minutes, fortunately we had a ton of lights to use and we ended up staying there like 4 hours, it was great fun. That light take 5 hrs to charge and last 17 minutes, like I said, but you can buy extra batteries, and at only $35, If you want pictures like that, it's totally worth it...you could get some KILLER night shots with that and make some SUPERbad pictures...haha!
