I get this message EVERY time I retrieve my saved username/password inside Windows Explorer to log in after session inactivity apparently is logging me out.

"We're so sorry, but that login and password didn't match. SmugMug is case sensitive, please check your CAPS LOCK key."

Oh, funny thing, it says it didn't log me in, but if I press the back button to get back to my prior session, I'm then logged in.

what's up with this? my password is correct, there is no doubt and I didn't even type it, it's saved, so the caps lock message is without merit.

Not sure what you mean by "retrieve" but please try logging out/in from www.smugmug.com okay - and let us know if it repeats.

Andy, let me try to rephrase.

Since I don't consider my smugmug access high security, I let Windows save my username and password. So, I basically just click the username (email) login name box, and I get a drop down white window with my email. I select it, and my password is auto entered from windows saved passwords I guess.

I then attempt to log in. It is at that point, I get the login error. I would say it could be a PC error/glitch, but it's doing the exact same thing both at home and at work PCs, this tells me it's something other than a system glitch.

Something changed in processing at the Smugmug system level that is causing it to not allow you to log in like this, it gives the error. But then I press back 2 times, and guess where I'm at? I'm sitting back inside my smugmug acct with control panel access/add delete program windows, I'm logged in.

I hope that makes a bit more sense chronologically and logically speaking.

Again, no solution was ever found for this, and I still have this issue.

Every time I try to log in:

"We're so sorry, but that login and password didn't match. SmugMug is case sensitive, please check your CAPS LOCK key."

Then I press back button to main panel, refresh, and I'm logged in?????

What is the *exact* page that you are seeing this at (where you click on 'login')? can you link me, please?

    I go here:

    www.fotogafer.com

i press login button at top of page.

    https://www.smugmug.com/login.mg?goTo=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fotogafer.com%2F

Then I enter my email by clicking a single time on the box, and retrieving my saved email from my windows explorer, then the password is autoloaded by Windows explorer. I press login, or enter, and that's when I get the message saying an error has occured.

I then press the back button to go back to main panel, press reload, and I am logged in.

Custom domains can not be used for loggin in/out, I'm sorry.
    See: http://www.smugmug.com/help/acctlogin

Please use nickname.smugmug.com or any other XXX.smugmug.com for logging in/out.

It is a cookie thing that may cause weird problems like this.

Ivar, I am not sure at all why you are talking about using smugmug in a login???

On this page, my smugmug page clearly states enter:

    https://www.smugmug.com/login.mg?goTo=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fotogafer.com%2F

    Email _________________
    Password _____________

That is precisely what I have done. my email address is a domain on my own server and has nothing to do with the domain I use as my account here that's another domain, it's just as if I'd used a comcast email, or other ISP email. If I am not supposed to use my own email which I used for 7-8 months, well??? I just don't understand then. Login, enter the email and password, and your in, that's how it always worked...

Again, www.fotogafer.com gets to my smugmug page.

My email is for a different domain, which I will not enter here right off... for security purposes.

    Oh, I went here:

www.smugmug.com/fotogafer edit- ok, whoops I see I used the wrong one here, sorry... shuold have been fotogafer.smugmug.com

I get the main smugmug page. not my account page.

It says login at top of page. I press login.

I enter my registration email address and my password, and I get the same dang ERROR MESSAGE!!! I CANNOT login at all now. headscratch.gif

Well, I did look at your help page. It said I could enter my account name only, and what do you know, it accepts that with my password. But I would like to point out to you admins, that it DOES say enter EMAIL ADDRESS, it does not say enter ACCOUNT NAME on the login page. There's a distinct difference.
