Share your Fall Foliage Techniques

Interested in how you shoot your Fall Foliage pics?

Filters......camera settings....ect

I see in diff mags of diff filters to use...Circ Pol.....Intensifier....Grad ND

Curious how others tackle this task. :D

    Curious how others tackle this task. :D

    well the 1st thing im going to do is take advantage of the golden light afforded by the sun right after sunrise or a few hours prior to sunset. I am also going to shoot with my WB set to cloudy.
    It might be a mistake but thats what Im going to try....

    That's what I wanna avoid is mistakes.
    It'd be good if we had some nice color this year too.

    actually my idea is correct, and tell ya one thing more....

    fall foilage on a rainy day "in the woods" is a great time to use a Circular Polarizer to capture the color of those leaves ( especially the ones that might have fallen near streams / ground etc.)...
    1st of all you dont have to deal with the sharp contrasts and shadows caused by a harsh sun.
    All the surfaces are wet and the wet surfaces pick up grey glare. The CP gives back the vibrant colors.... so even on a rainy/ cloudy fall day get out and shoot those leaves

    Like Troy said, overcast days can be very nice to shoot fall foliage.
