Close encounters of the 420mm kind

Greetings from Florida. I love my Canon 300 f/4 L IS with the 1.4X extender and just wanted to share some shots for those who maybe considering this combo.

    headscratch.gif I could have bought the 1.4X with the 300mm I bought. I generously let a different work colleague buy it as he was heading to the mountains. Now that its my turn to go on vacation, I really am having second thoughts.

    Thanks, the first one is a black skimmer which I believe you could see over there on the West coast at the beach.

    Ann, thanks for looking, if I were you I would have one over-nighted ! In super low light the af will be a little slow but it does bother me much.MF is so easy w/ an L anyway

    That Cooper's Hawk shot has some great light and I like the pose of the reddish egret.

    thanks! I have seen some great shots on here so I just wanted to stop looking and throw a couple of mine in the mix
