SM shipping to account owner vs. person ordering

Is there a way to have all prints ship directly ship to me instead of the customer ordering the prints?

i.e. Jane, Jill and Joseph all order prints through my SM site. All these prints are sent to Jon (me) no matter what option they select.

I understand EZ prints does a great job w/ QA.. And I'm not worried about color since SM and I are gellin in the same CS.

I would like to be able to hand deliver and go over the prints with customers to develop a better working relationship. This is also a great way for me to upsell as well.

    Hi John,

The only way this can be done is if you order the prints for your customers, I'm sorry - I wish I had a different answer for you!

From the blog of wedding photographer Matt Antonio...
"Pictage has quit printing proof products at their Cali lab and has outsourced proof prints to ezprints.

Just an FYI - We used ezprints for about 18 months. They are the worst of 8 labs we’ve used, in our opinion.

The color was always bad, orders were consistently messed up and the last contact we had, they gave us a $150 credit because things had been so bad with their products.

We had recently gotten a bunch of prints returned and we didn’t know why - now we do.

Wish I didn’t know. Now I have to change services. icon_sad.gif"

I can't speak to the accuracy of this. I post it only to support my previous comments that the partnership with EZ Prints is not in SM's best interest when it comes to serious wedding photographers. In my opinion.

I assume there is a business rationale for this arrangement; if so I can understand that. I would *gladly* pay an additional fee for the right to opt out of EZ Prints for my order fulfillment. My next wedding will be hosted by Digilabs solely because I need to give the bride a print credit.

If you guys are actually working on this it would be good to know. If you have no intention to offer these options... that would be useful to know as well.

Does anyone know if this was a feature that has been implemented since this original post? This feature is a deal breaker for me.

    Thanks.

Not sure which feature you are asking about since there are two things discussed in this thread.

If you have a pro account you now have a choice of labs - EZPrints or Bay Photo - http://www.smugmug.com/photos/professional-photo-hosting-sell-photos/.
But if a customer places and order I believe it will still ship directly to the customer.
