wow what a stunning picture. I can honestly say that when I opened it my eye went straight to the fire and then my eye wondered all over the picture looking at every little aspect. Good job.
These portraits are terrific, especially the first one. The modeling of the figure is dramatic - almost like light on bronze - and the surrounding shadow areas, with just a hint of detail, add a powerful dimensionality to the man and the flame.
The composition of the second portrait leaves me a little uneasy, however; it just seems a bit out of balance. I tried cropping it right down the middle into a vertical (with a sheet of paper held up to the screen), and for me it is a lot more powerful that way.
Your mastery of lighting is really great; I wish i had your command. You leave me wanting to see more.
