Nice shot Jim, some of the lighter colors are almost too much (i.e the yellow plant in the lower left) . Have you tried lowering the brightness in your post work?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Here is another version, w/o the lab color bump. My inhouse editor encourges bright, saturated colors. I calibrate my monitor w/ colorvision spyder2 and am usually happy w/ the colors I get. It seems that sometimes they turn out extra bright when converted to the web.

I like the second picture, on my monitor, much more than the first. A bit more subdued, and rustic. Cool shot. I love shots of old pilings; someones dock, a bit of history....long gone. Similar to a 'barn' shot, just wetter. I am a Yelmite, (Yelmonian?), and an Evergreen alumni who spent a good block of time in the southern Puget Sound area, and love shots like this. Thanks for sharing.

I like the second one two, but just a little bit more. I live a block from the sound, north of you. Cannot beat the sound.
