IPTC and/or keywords/tags for location?

Hi,

I've seen it recommended to use IPTC for location of a photo rather than keywords/tags. How do you people go abouts with this?

Doesn't it take more time to enter location, city, country etc. for each photo than just applying a keyword?

And how can location be searched in Smugmug if it's only in IPTC?

I'm trying to find a good keywording strategy that also works well will Smugmug (I use Lightroom before uploading to Smugmug).

Flickr apparently is adding country, city and state/province as a keyword. But I didn't find Smugmug doing this.

Could this be done somehow, so that one only has to use the location fields for location, while still being able to easily find the photo in Smugmug, bly clicking the keyword?
